In an HDB corridor, a barky dog can quickly become a neighbour dispute, so invest in training early and don't leave the dog alone too long crying. Second, exercise, small flat means you MUST walk the dog properly daily or it goes stir crazy and destroys your house. Third, the void deck and lift etiquette, always leash and clean up, some neighbours are scared of dogs. It's very doable and rewarding, but treat the neighbour relationship seriously from day one. A well-trained quiet dog keeps the peace in flat living.
