My manager keeps taking credit for my work. How to handle?

I did a whole project solo and my manager presented it to the directors as "our team effort" then only mentioned himself. It's happened three times now. I don't want to be seen as petty but I'm frustrated.

Classic. Stop relying on the meeting to show your value, build a paper trail instead. Send project updates over email with senior people cc-ed, "Here's the draft I've completed, happy to walk the team through it." Now your contribution is documented and visible without you having to fight for airtime. In meetings, speak up on your own work: "Happy to add colour on the part I built." Not petty, just present. I also started asking my manager directly to let me present my own sections to leadership for growth, hard for him to refuse without looking bad. Three times is a pattern, so protect yourself. If nothing changes, skip-level conversations exist for a reason.

Had the same manager type. Honestly I just left after a year, some people won't change and fighting it drains you. But before that, I built relationships with the directors directly through casual updates so they knew my name. That reputation followed me when I moved teams.
