Govt Schemes & CPF

How do you actually make sense of all the government schemes for a young family, are they worth the effort to apply?

Been through it with two kids, and the honest answer is most of these are genuinely worth it and less admin than you fear, because a lot is now automatic. The Baby Bonus cash gift comes in instalments and the CDA is the big one, whatever you top up gets matched dollar-for-dollar up to a cap, so if you have the cash, max out the CDA because it's literally free matched money you can spend on childcare, medical and preschool. The MediSave grant for newborns lands in the baby's MediSave automatically, no action needed. The one people leave on the table is not fully using the CDA match and forgetting the Parenthood Tax Rebate which offsets your income tax for years. My tip: sit down once during the pregnancy or right after birth, register on the LifeSG app, and knock out all the applications in one sitting so nothing slips through, the return on that one afternoon of admin is thousands of dollars.
