Is SkillsFuture Credit actually worth using for a career switch at 35?
Switched from ops to data analytics at 34, so real talk. SkillsFuture Credit alone won't get you hired, a 40-hour cert is a signal not a passport. What worked: I stacked it. Used the credit for a foundational course, then did a longer subsidised programme (check the ones under the mid-career pathways). The cert got me interviews, but the portfolio project I built afterwards got me the job. Steps: 1) pick a target role and read 10 real job ads, 2) list the skills they repeat, 3) find a course that maps to those, 4) build one real project to show. Treat the credit as fuel, not the whole engine. Also check your top-ups, mid-career folks got extra credit topped up before.
